On behalf of B&D Herefords & Angus, I want to take this opportunity to invite you to our Fall Classic Production Sale. Paired with our Spring Season Opener Sale, this Fall offering has grown to include a great set of strong aged bulls that’re ready for immediate turnout. The bulls have done really well this summer, as we’ve had some of the very best summer grazing we’ve had in years. We continue in unprecedented times in the commercial cattle business. Calf prices continue to surge as does the fat cattle markets. All signs point to calf prices staying elevated, and as many of our customers have realized, “pounds pay the bills.” Selecting genetics that will maximize profitability at either weaning or yearling time has allowed our bull customers to experience some of their best times yet. Where we at B&D Herefords & Angus truly pride ourselves is on the maternal side. While the steer calves sired by this bull offering will put you on the top end when you market them, where these bulls set themselves apart is siring replacement daughters. The U.S. cowherd inventory remains at historic lows and we are starting to see the cowman keep daughters back to build herd numbers. Pay close attention to the data on the bulls selling. We keep a close watch on the maternal production on each one of these dams, and most of these bulls come from cows & cow-families that are strong producers at weaning time. This highly heritable maternal production ensures that the daughters from both our Angus & Hereford bulls will sire females with longevity & strong maternal traits. As we do in our Fall Classic, we are selling the 5-year-old Fall calving Hereford cows. We don’t sift off the top end of these and are offering many females that are excellent producers and raise some of our top bulls and females every year. Most all of these will have a calf at side by sale day. As always, the bulls & cows will sell on video, and we will be live on DVAuction for sale day.
