2025 STONY RUN JAZZ CONCERT

Belize Friends School and Belize Friends Center

We thank Stony Run Friends (SRFM) for supporting our work in the South- side neighborhood of Belize City, the most impoverished urban community in Belize. Our children are faced with daily hunger, need safe places to stay, and need help negotiating streets where gangs struggle for control. The School and the Friends Center are safe havens, where children have support to enter high school and families can receive needed food and other support. Some of the programs and services that SRFM has supported include: • Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) workshops • The Community Safety Project to end human trafficking, resist gang recruitment of teenage boys, and create awareness about mental health • Physical improvements to our building • Enabling food distribution among school families and others by a group of women in the Friends Center church

Your support for education has given vulnerable children scholarships, school supplies and uniforms so that they can stay in class, complete high school, and pursue new opportunities. And this leadership recycles! Our Board Clerk is a Belize Friends School graduate, and our Principal also grew up in Southside. Both are education professionals. Our continuing needs include: • Support for general operations. • Community safety project to create mental health awareness. • Scholarships (we expect to open a new fund for this next year) All contributions may be made online at

www.FUM.org or sent to: Friends United Meeting 101 Quaker Hill Drive Richmond, Indiana, 47374

On the memo line, checks should say “Belize Friends School and Center.”
