Improving Life in Burundi
The Friends Women’s Association Ntaseka Clinic in Bujumbura, Burundi provides community-based services to women and their families.
PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
Caring for HIV Positive People by providing medical care and follow-up, nutri- tional support, self-help groups, and advocacy for voluntary HIV screening. Supporting Rape Survivors by holding trauma healing workshops, providing medical care, and supporting survi- vors through self-help groups and the Street Business School that teaches skills for financial autonomy.
Improving Women’s Reproductive Health by teaching family planning and pro- viding clinic services for contraception and ultrasound. Action on Gender-Based Violence by advocating for community mobiliza- tion against gender-based violence by working with community and religious leaders.
