NAME Anne-Marie Oomen PROFESSION Founding Editor of Dunes Review , current board member of Michigan Writers, and Instructor of Solstice MFA in Creative Writing at Lasell University EDUCATION Master of Fine Arts from Grand Valley State University SPECIAL NOTES Recipient of the 2023-24 Michigan Author Award for Lifetime Achievement. Award-winning author, playwright, and former Director of Creative Writing at Interlochen Center for the Arts. VISIT DETAILS Jan. 22-29 – Taught a playwriting master class exploring dramatic structure, dialogue, and character development. Oomen’s visit culminated in a staged reading of creative writing students’ original 10-minute plays. NAME Dr. Mona Awad PROFESSION Assistant Professor in the Creative Writing program at Syracuse University EDUCATION Ph.D. in Creative Writing and English Literature from the University of Denver SPECIAL NOTES New York Times -bestselling novelist and author. She is also a three-time finalist for a Goodreads Choice Award, recipient of an Amazon Best First Novel Award, and was shortlisted for the Giller Prize. VISIT DETAILS April 9 – Awad interviewed with Interlochen Review student editors, completed a fiction master class, and gave an evening reading. The day also featured a Q&A session and book signing.
