NAME Sunny Liu (IAA 09-11) and Dr. Jasmine Guo (IAA 10-12) PROFESSION Filmmaker, pianist/composer, and animator; classical pianist, contemporary concert composer, and film composer EDUCATION Master of Music from The New School and Master of Documentary Filmmaking from the School of Visual Arts; Ph.D. from University of California Los Angeles under Richard Danielpour, Peter Golub, Ian Krouse, and Kay Rhi VISIT DETAILS Nov. 1-3 – Engaged students in a master class, screening, and Q&A session. Liu presented Pianoman , a documentary about an undocumented immigrant who builds and repairs pianos. Both artists also discussed their careers after attending the Academy, reflecting on how their lives and artistic paths have evolved over time. Their visit provided students with valuable insights into the intersections of music and film, as well as the challenges and growth that come with pursuing a career in the arts.

The competition culminated in a live presentation at the Dendrinos Chapel where students showcased their ideas on stage.
