Port Charlotte Public Library
It was another busy week at the Port Charlotte Library. Our Preschool Preppers practiced their rhymes and colors with elephants, while readers enjoyed interacting with our Dog Tales Afterschool teams on Wednesday evening. Homeschoolers learned about density and immiscibility while making glowing lava lamps, and the teens explored the use of creative hooks in Word Wizards. Saturday finished the week with skeleton-building in Tunes for Tots in the morning and a full all-ages painting workshop in the afternoon. Our painters learned about the ombré technique while making a lovely starlit pumpkin patch inspired by Van Gogh’s Starry Night. In Saturday’s Book Bites nonfiction book club, 9 people discussed books they read on the topic of culture across borders. On Monday, local author Kristin Owens had 8 people attend her workshop on Firing Up a Writing Practice.
