everything for them—I once prayed the same way. But as I studied Scripture, I discovered that when the Bible mentions the mind, it’s really talking about our thinking.” What began as a personal study evolved into a series of teachings on “mindset.” Those teachings resonated deeply with his congregation, eventually becoming the foundation of his book. “I realized this was not just another sermon topic,” Dr. Hodge says. “It was a message that needed to reach beyond the pulpit.” For Dr. Hodge, transformation is more than theory—it’s testimony. A defining moment came at age twenty- eight, when, despite being in church his entire life, he truly accepted Christ as his Savior. Later, during Bible college, he experienced what he describes as “a complete shift in thinking.” “The Word of God was changing my thoughts,” he says. “But I had to let that change take place.” That willingness to surrender old ways of thinking and embrace new, God-aligned perspectives remains the heart of his message. Perhaps the most profound insight Dr. Hodge discovered while writing Mindset is that change is not a one-time event—it’s a lifelong pursuit. “A mindset change doesn’t happen overnight,” he explains. “It’s a daily decision to take responsibility for your part in your relationship with God.” Romans 12:2 serves as a guiding principle for his philosophy: ‘Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.’ For Dr. Hodge, that renewal is ongoing and essential for anyone who desires to grow into the likeness of Christ. At its core, Mindset explores the difference between a fixed mindset— rooted in fear, tradition, or complacency— and a growth mindset anchored in faith. “Complacency is the enemy of us all,” Dr. Hodge warns. “It convinces us that change isn’t possible. But as Proverbs says, ‘As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.’” To combat stagnation, Dr. Hodge practices daily exercises rooted in Scripture. “I remind myself what the
