paper, representing the life of a Chris tian, to reach the world down on the table. If we could add another link to this paper, it would reach to the world. In the case of the Christian, who is sur rendered to Christ, a link of love is added to this person’s life in order that the world may be reached for Christ.

Objects: A large red cardboard cross, a globe of the world, a piece of paper six feet long and three inches wide, a pair of scissors. (Glue the ends of the paper together, making a circle, but before doing so, give one end of the paper a half-turn. Place the cross on the pulpit and the world on a table below it. Fasten the scissors to the back of the cross. Begin the lesson with the link hanging from the cross.) Lesson: This link of white paper hanging from the cross reminds me of the life of an individual who has been saved by accepting Christ as his personal Saviour. After His death and resurrec tion, before His ascension, Christ said to His disciples: “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to ob serve all things whatsoever I have com manded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:19,20). I And a pair of scissors back of the cross with which I will demonstrate how this can be done. (One inch from the side of the circle, begin cutting around the circle. Continue cutting one inch from the edge until you have gone around the circle twice. The result will be a loop with the same circumference of the origi nal, linked to another loop with twice the original circumference.) We now have two links. We will call the large one “the link of love.” You will notice that now it easily encircles the globe on the table below. With the love of Christ added to the life of a Christian, that person, obeying the command of Christ, reaches out to the lost world, fulfilling Christ’s com mand. C ousins C an C ount Objects: A large red cross, a globe of the world, a mirror, two cans of vegeta bles, two empty vegetable cans and a glass of water discolored with black ink. (Solder insets of tin in the two empty cans, on the inside, running obliquely from the top of one side to within 2% inches of the bottom, and reaching two- thirds of the way across the can. When the cans are turned toward the inset, the water runs back of the inset and does not come out. Paste the labels wrong side up on the empty cans. Place the globe at one end of the table, and the cross at the other end. Near the cross place the two full cans, and the empty ones near the world.) April 12, 1953
