HERD HEALTH: All bulls will be available for immediate shipment. All bulls have been fertility tested and are ready for work. Our vet will be available sale day to answer any herd health questions. ALL BULLS IN THE SALE HAVE BEEN TESTED NEGATIVE FOR BVD-PI (persistently infected-bovine virus diarrhea). GENETIC CONDITIONS: All animals selling are tested AMF, NHF and CAF either by DNA testing or by parentage default - these are the three lethal genetic recessives monitored by the American Angus Association. Developmental Duplication, the genetic recessive identified as DD, is an abnormality that has been long-observed in Angus cattle but was previously thought to be caused by conjoined twins or other anomalies during fetal development. This abnormality was found to be a simply inherited recessive genetic condition passed through certain pedigree lines of Angus cattle. Animals affected with this condition can sometimes be born with an extra limb or part of an extra limb (a condition referred to as polymelia). In keeping with our “full disclosure” policy at Brinkley Angus Ranch, we have tested most of the “at risk” animals that sell and you will see pedigree designations of DDF (free), DDC (carrier) and DDP (potential) to assist you in making your own buying decision regarding the importance of this non-lethal genetic recessive for your breeding program. RETAINED SEMEN INTEREST: Brinkley Angus Ranch retains a one-third revenue sharing interest in EVERY bull that sells in this sale. Buyer owns full possession, full control and full salvage value of the bull. Jim Brinkley retains this interest so that he can easily access the pedigree and EPD information on the bull using the American Angus Association login to the database maintained by that organization for its members. That valuable information allows Jim to accurately identify the genetics of calves entering the Ruth Family Farms Premium Angus Beef Ranch to Table program and to be able to assist his customers in selecting future generations of bulls that best complement the Brinkley Angus genetics that can be found in the daughters of Brinkley sires that make up their herds. BOARDING & TRUCKING: All Brinkley bulls may be boarded at Brinkley Angus Ranch free of charge until December 1. Free delivery in Missouri and surrounding states to central points. Shipment is at buyer’s risk. Contact the ranch for pick-up and delivery arrangements. VOLUME DISCOUNT: Buy 5 bulls, receive a 5% discount off the price of each bull.
