Dear Members and Friends,
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Chia as our new General Manager, who assumed the said role on 9 March 2020 at The Grassroots’ Club (TGC). Having values closely aligned with TGC, Steven brings with him a wealth of experience and organisational professionalism acquired from various units in The People’s Association (PA), including the Constituency Office, National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI) and the PA HQ. Over and above achieving specific financial goals, facilities management plans and human resources’ objectives, he had also adroitly administered community outreach initiatives during his tenure of 23 years with the PA. Steven’s strong leadership qualities and skill sets matches TGC’s goals to: 1. Promote a sense of belonging and identity among members; 2. Implement programmes and activities, and manage social and recreational facilities for its members and their families; and 3. Strengthen the rapport and cohesion amongst grassroots leaders. “Mymission at TGC is to lead andmotivate a dynamic, forward thinking team in order to cultivate a more spirited Club culture, create a vibrant environment for members/patrons, and further enhance community outreach strategies. I believe I am able to provide the necessary tools and required guidance to accomplish the aforementioned mission, as we welcome more Grassroots Leaders to TGC,” Steven articulated, beaming with confidence.
