LOVE IS IN THE AIR! During the month of February, there’s a lot of talk of love. With Valentine’s Day in the middle of the month, we have a calendar date to remind us to tell our loved ones just how much we appreciate them. Of course, sharing this appreciation is important no matter the date. wedding. It happened late last year, and it was an opportunity to visit home for several days. My niece, a New Zealander, married an Australian! The bride was lovely and the whole ceremony was wonderful. It was nice to get back home to New Zealand to see many of my relatives, catch up, and take in all the festivities of the great event. New Zealand at 21 years old. From there, I moved to England. While in London, I met the woman who would become my wife. Her being an American certainly adds to the story! Eventually, I made the move to the U.S. and, long story short, we got married, But speaking of love and appreciation, I recently attended my niece’s Watching my niece’s wedding brought back some memories of my own. But it’s also going to be a busy winter at the clinic, too. On the topic of love and appreciation, I have to say, one of the big reasons I love what I do is because of how effective PT can be. Working with so many patients, I’ve seen firsthand the results of manual therapy and exercise. Even after so many years working in PT, I’m still astonished. I love being part of a solution that does not involve the pharmacy or the surgery table. When every patient gets that one-on-one time for a full hour, it can make a big difference. That’s the time we get to know you and better understand your specific issue, whether it’s constant pain or trouble with balance. From all of us at Summit, we hope you have a great February. And don’t forget about any goals you set for yourself last month!
settled down, and I started my clinic (originally in Lake Oswego).
One of the reasons I settled in the Portland area was because of how much it reminded me of home. There are many similarities between Auckland, New Zealand, and Portland. There’s a lot of water and a lot of green. It was very comforting. While I was in New Zealand in December, we also made a side trip to Australia — Brisbane, specifically. Brisbane is along the eastern coast of Australia, a good 570 miles north of Sydney. We saw a lot of unique Australian wildlife and visited a few art and history museums. It was an all- around cultural experience! Back at home, my mind is on two things: work and skiing! I’ve been looking forward to skiing since last season! I’m excited to get up to Mt. Hood Meadows on the southeast slope of the mountain. I’m also looking forward to a short trip to Alta in Utah (just outside Salt Lake City). I have no doubt it’s going to be a busy winter on the slopes.
