Open Classes & Company Electives Ages 10-18
The following classes are optional Prime Mover Company electives and serve as open classes for any non-company dancers.
IMPROV/BARRE (AGES 10-14)
HIP-HOP (AGES 10-17)
This class alternates each week between contemporary barre and creative improvisation. Contemporary barre includes modern and contemporary dance interpretations of classical ballet barre exercises. Creative Improvisation features movement invention exercises focusing on both contact improvisation and individual expressions of movement. (Appropriate for Prime Level Company Dancers). Code: DNC 14 Instructor: Han Myers Location: Mansion, Upstairs Gallery Class Maximum: 10 Tuition: $238.00 A one hour class that has a complete classical barre and a guided stretch at the end of class. Great for strengthening technique and flexibility. (Appropriate for Pro-Prime Level Company Dancers). Code: DNC 15 Instructor: Olivia Anderson Location: Mansion, Winter Living Room Class Maximum: 10 Tuition: $238.00 BALLET BARRE/STRETCH (AGES 13-18) Day/Time: Wednesdays, 5:00 - 6:00 PM Dates: August 14 - November 20 (14 Weeks) (Skips 10/16/24)
A high energy hip-hop class that begins with a cardio based strengthening warm up and moves on to fluid hip-hop phrases. This class explores rhythm, movement quality and performance with lots of fun and energizing music. (Appropriate for Prime and Pro-Prime Level Company Dancers). Code: DNC 16 Instructor: Deshe’a Wanzo Location: Mansion, Winter Living Room Class Maximum: 10 Tuition: $238.00 This class will focus on building strength, flexibility and technique in ballet and modern. A great class for those looking to reinforce their dance foundation in a fun setting. Dance attire with ballet shoes and convertible tights for a quick change into Modern is required. (Appropriate for Prime and Pro-Prime Level Company Dancers).
