ANTOINE MESSIER antoine.messier@eap.on.ca After organizing the Vankleek Hill Christmas Parade for several years in a row, Excellent Events has decided to stop organizing it this year. Champlain Township has taken over the organiza- tion of the parade after two years of absence. The parade will take place on December 2 at 6:30 p.m. and will start at Vankleek Hill Collegiate. «When Samme contacted me and said they would not be hosting the parade this year, we didn’t think twice about whether we should take over the parade,” said Zoe Fortin-Larocque, municipal economic development director and community events coordinator. «We didn’t think twice about whether or not we should do the parade again. This is a highly anticipated event for the community, and after a two-year absence, we felt it was important to bring it back.” Applications to participate in the Cham- plain Township Christmas Parade are now being accepted for floats, marching groups and bands.
