Sharing the Abundance

WHY WE SUPPORT THE GREATER CLEVELAND FOOD BANK

The holiday season is also known as the season of giving, and the truth is that too many people in our community need help. It’s important for us to be good neighbors, so Exceptional Smiles has been supporting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank for several years. We want to help the greatest number of people possible, and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank touches so many lives. I first became aware of the organization through my kids, who volunteered there with school groups. They’d pack the food, load it, and get it ready for distribution. One time, they were assigned to sort and package beets. I personally love beets, and I’ll eat them all kinds of ways, but no one else in my family does. It was fun to see the kids interact with a food they normally avoid, and their hands were purple for the rest of the day. Once the kids made me aware of both the need and the opportunity to help, I wanted to make the office aware as well. The first time we made a larger donation, we got both a call and an email from the head of the food bank’s local division. They seemed surprised to have received the gift. I wish that wasn’t the case — in this office and in our business community, I want gifting to be the rule and not the exception. In addition to financial assistance, we’ve found other ways to give back by holding food drives at the office. Though we

paused those efforts last year due to the pandemic, we’re hoping to perform another food drive this year and redouble our support. If you’d like to get involved with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, you can visit GreaterClevelandFoodBank.org to learn more. They are always in need of donations, and while cash gifts go the furthest, food and personal items like toilet paper and deodorant are also accepted. You can even sign up to host your own food drive. Volunteers are always needed to sort and pack food, and they accept sign-ups from both individuals and groups. If you or someone you know needs assistance, you can request help through the website. Whatever issues our community members are facing, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has been there and will continue to be there to support everyone. As we continue our holiday season, let’s not forget our neighbors in need. No matter what organizations you choose to support this year, we can change people’s lives by giving as much as we’re able.

Happy holidays!

TECHNOLOGY WE’RE THANKFUL FOR The Future Is Here

Thanksgiving may be over, but at Exceptional Smiles at Landerbrook, we have reasons to be grateful all year round. In particular, we’re thankful for the excellent dental technology in our office that allows us to provide our patients with faster care that is even more painless. Each year, our dentists spend hours taking advanced courses and training on new technologies. This continuing education helps us follow the latest recommendations in the field while also using the best technology available. Here are some of the devices we use every day and couldn’t be more thankful for.

to evaluate your condition from literally every angle, these 3D images beat flat X-rays any day. Best of all, the process is quick, easy, and entirely painless.

VELscope is a handheld device that significantly enhances any visual exam of your mouth, helping to detect any sign of oral cancer early and before it’s reached a critical stage. Do you know someone who would love our modern technology? We are accepting new patients and are grateful for your recommendation of our care to others. When you refer someone to our care, you will receive a special thank-you from us — your choice of a $50 gift certificate or an office credit! Technology is constantly changing and advancing, and we’re dedicated to keeping our office up to date and current with information that will benefit you. Whatever your oral health needs may be, we’ve got the right tools to provide you with easy, exceptional care.

Most restorations involve a mold of your mouth, which has historically been a messy and uncomfortable process. Using a handheld wand with an intraoral camera, the iTero Scanner allows 3D models of a patient’s teeth to appear quickly on a computer screen. The images can then be sent securely to the lab designing your crown, bridge, or other dental device with a faster turnaround time.

THE BEST DEAL ON ALL-INCLUSIVE INVISALIGN FOR ONLY $3,759

If you’ve been looking for the perfect time to straighten your smile, don’t wait any longer. Exceptional Smiles at Landerbrook is excited to announce our best deal ever for Invisalign — an all-inclusive treatment for only $3,759. Even better, we’re offering approved patients with financing of $250 down and a monthly payment of as little as $81, so your treatment can easily fit into your budget. If you’re not familiar with the benefits of Invisalign, let us recap. Invisalign uses clear plastic trays,

without metal braces or regular orthodontist appointments. The process involves taking 3D images of your teeth so that we can craft and perfect your future smile. Once created just for you, the aligners can be removed for proper care and will give you a straight smile without the cuts and soreness of braces. And because the aligners are clear, they’re much less noticeable than metal and wires. Most patients consider Invisalign much easier than traditional braces, and treatment times are usually shorter. Plus, you get several sets of aligners at once, so you can change them by yourself at home based on the orthodontist’s orders — meaning you’ll spend less time in the dentist’s chair. In short, Invisalign is discreet, convenient, and comfortable. This low price won’t last forever, so make sure to schedule your appointment by Dec. 31. If you’re looking for an even bigger discount, consider referring a friend — if you do, both you and your friend will get $100 off Invisalign treatment! We won’t stop until you’re happy with your smile, so you’ve got nothing to lose. Take advantage of this great offer today!

Decorate Your Gingerbread House Like a Pro

CREATING A HOLIDAY MASTERPIECE

Spice drops also make for a great trim and “roofing,” just use icing to hold them in place. Alternate between colors or use a variety to make your house really pop.

M&Ms are certainly a must-have for anyone decorating their gingerbread house. Not only are they delicious, but they also make cute little accents all over the house and yard. Mini cookies of your choice may also make a deliciously good-looking roof. Try layering them up for a dimensional look! And, for extra pizazz, strategically place mini candy canes throughout the yard and on either side of the front doors and windows. If you want to get really detailed, try using actual candy bars as fire logs in the fireplace. Just be sure to store your gingerbread house in a cool area so nothing will melt! Whether you prefer a simple gingerbread house or a flashy one, any and ALL candy can be used! Get decorating and be sure to have a bite of candy along the way!

HOW TO DECORATE YOUR GINGERBREAD HOUSE LIKE A PRO

One of the most popular holiday traditions has become making and decorating gingerbread houses. The tradition began in Germany in the early 1800s and originated from Grimm’s “Hansel and Gretel.” Some shy away from the idea of making their own gingerbread house, but have no fear — if the Germans did it in the early 1800s, so can you! To simplify things, many gingerbread houses come with baked pieces and a full decorating kit. This helps you have more time for the best part: the actual decorating! Each kit usually comes with fun candy and icing, so you can make something really kick-butt for the holidays! Icing will be your best friend. Think of it as the yummy glue that holds everything together while also acting as a colorful trim for your gingerbread house. However, because it’ll keep the house from falling, be sure to use a lot!
