The Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge (YouthADAPT Challenge) is an annual competition and awards program for youth-led enterprises (50% women-led) jointly organized by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Climate Investment Funds (CIF) as part of the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program YouthADAPT Flagship Program. This challenge seeks to boost sustainable job creation through support for entrepreneurship and youth-led innovation in climate change adaptation and resilience across Africa. The 2022 edition was implemented by AfriLabs. The competition, launched in 2021, provides seed funding of up to US$100,000 for enterprises managed by youth under the age of 35 and owns climate change adaptation enterprise in Africa. The

winners will also go through a 12-month accelerator program to help them grow their businesses, deepen their impact, and scale up adaptation jobs.

“Young business leaders in Africa are bringing the innovation and action required to address the climate crisis. Through the AAAP, these young entrepreneurs have access to a global platform that will provide the tools, expertise, and finance required to break the barriers to scaling their solutions. I am proud to support and accelerate their success.”
