EMD contract as Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) for the remainder of the EMD work or face a potential program cancellation. The contract had to be renegotiated in less than 3 months before the Period of Performance (PoP) of the existing contract expired. We could not have pulled that off had we not established a foundation for transparent and regular communication at all levels ahead of time. EPAWSS remains a program as a result, but most importantly, F-15Es, F-15EXs, and the Airmen who operate them will soon be significantly more protected from advanced threats than they are today. My leadership gave me ownership, agency, and trust in leading the solution solving to this problem. They made it known that my efforts had their full backing to all parties, and without that, we could not have solved the problem as effectively as we did. I’m forever grateful for their leadership, and to have been a part of the EPAWSS program.
