An Australian physical therapist designed Archies as a better alternative to protect his patients from the hazards of wearing conventional flip-flops. He also wanted Archies to look enough like their fashionable competitors to be stylish in the eyes of his patients. Archies are made of closed-cell foam material with a patented footbed that conforms to the shape of the wearer’s foot, cradling and supporting the arches. Wearing them requires less energy because the tighter strap holds them firmly to the foot. They also provide the same support as a typical orthotic, and their one-piece design prevents the strap from breaking away from the footbed, reducing the risk of sprained ankles. The overall effect is a more biomechanically correct posture, reducing hip and knee pain and preventing or reducing pain from plantar fasciitis. Many of our chiro partners have purchased and worn Archies themselves.
