I believe that it’s a birth right of every child to participate in some or the other sport. No matter they take it professionally or not. But it should be part of our lifestyle. Sports builds character and makes you a better human being. Sports helps to be physically mentally and emotionally fit. Do you believe in bringing up the spirit of sports in women as much as we do in men? QUESTION 04 Destiny. I was working for accenture as a consultant when I got an offer on Facebook from Shashi Sumeet productions for diya Aur baati hum in December 2015. I never thought I’ll be an actor. But here I am. I met the team and in a matter of three days they asked me to shift to mumbai to start working with them. My acting training was mostly on the job. Whatever I have learnt is in front of the Camera. Was it any difficult to be a part of showbiz after being a significant part of Sports domain? Were you treated any differently? QUESTION 06 Besides being a sports enthusiast, you are working as an actress now. What influenced this shift of career journey? QUESTION 05 No it wasn’t. I was treated with a lot of respect coming from a sports background and it helped me a lot in the industry. Sports teaches you to be a quick learner.. even that helped me learn the basic skills to perform my scenes. Showbiz is an extremely tough industry to be in. You can’t survive if you are weak mentally and emotionally. Sports prepared my base to be an actor at a very young age it seems ;) How is life different as an actress than a sportswoman? QUESTION 07 Being an actor there are more people who know you. You have name , fame , money. It’s also an unpredictable industry in terms of getting the work of your choice. You can be busy with a project for days.. and at the same time you can be free without one for days. Patience is must in being an actor. Being a sportsperson was the best time of my life. There is no stress of looking pretty. You are out in the sun getting tanned .. playing for your team .. and enjoying with your team mates. You play hard and you eat a lot :D
It was a great feeling to bring an international medal back home. Being a captain is tough and comes with a lot of responsibilities. Haven given that opportunity at such a young age has made me stronger to face bigger challenges in life. It prepared me to lead a graceful life tackling any small or big problem with a pinch of salt. You have worked in Punjabi, Malayalam and Telugumovies. How is it different than working on Television? QUESTION 11 Other than that, under your captaincy you have brought home medals and trophies, Silver Medal in the Beach Games 2011 and Gold Medal in 54th National Games. Describe your journey of captaincy. QUESTION 10 I’m waiting for a good opportunity. I have been very selective when it comes to choosing my projects. I want to be a part of the projects I can sit with my family and Watch. Have been very clear about certain things from the time the acting offer came to me. You have been seen in some of the major hits of TV including the Popular Drama Serial Diya Or Baati Hum. Do you now see yourself moving towards Bollywood Film industry? QUESTION 08 I don’t think any number of words can express how it feels to wear your Indian Colors and representing your country at one of the biggest games organized in the world. I was fortunate enough to play my first big games in my own country and my hometown that too in front of my family. Those were the priceless memories which I’ll cherish all my life. You were the youngest captain of the Indian Netball Team in Commonwealth Games 2010, held in Delhi. How did it feel like? QUESTION 09 TV is like a job. You are playing the same character for days. Whereas movies are more creatively designed in terms of its story, dialogues, shot taking, planning and execution. Both have their own pros and cons. I enjoy acting irrespective of what medium I get to be a part of. I am fortunate to make all my debuts at such good big platforms.
