Honoring the Father Figures in Our Lives

Father’s Day is a time when kids and adults celebrate and honor the father figures in their lives. It’s a day dedicated to the dads, uncles, granddads, stepfathers, and all men who’ve had a positive impact on our lives. My father was a huge influence in my life. He was the one who inspired me to become a lawyer. He served people across Missouri for 25 years and helped thousands of clients along the way. Beck & Beck is a strong reminder of my dad. When he started the firm, he was determined to help the people throughout Missouri who found themselves facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Not only was he an attorney and advocate for those being taken advantage of by the insurance company bullies, but he was also a friend and someone each client could call when they needed any sort of legal advice. If he didn’t have an answer for them, then he always had an attorney friend that specialized in the area of law they needed help with. No questions went unanswered. He said, “If they’re thinking to call me with their legal questions, I’ll find an answer for them or will connect them with someone who will.” I grew up watching how he handled cases and treated clients. He felt a deep-rooted duty to his clients, and the work ethic instilled in us by our parents led us to where we are today. My dad set an example of hard work and honesty in every case he handled. That passion and philosophy is something my brother and I took on when we became lawyers.

Technology has been a great asset as we have been encouraged to stay inside to minimize the spreading of the virus. It’s allowed people to check in with family members, stay in touch with friends, work remotely, and continue their studies. For Father’s Day, it will give both kids and adults the chance to reach out to their father figures and wish them a happy Father’s Day, and I think that’s really important. This year, we might be faced with some uncertain times, but I know people will find creative ways to celebrate Father’s Day. No matter what may happen, we should remember its importance and set some time aside to show our father figures how much we care.

reminiscing about all the good times we have had with the father figures in our lives.

I know a lot of people who usually celebrate the holiday by going out and having a beer, watching whatever game is on TV, or having dinner together. But, there’s a bit of uncertainty this year. With COVID-19 forcing many people inside and the CDC encouraging social distancing, people might not have the chance to indulge in their annual celebrations. However, that won’t stop people from doing their best to celebrate in any way they can.

Father’s Day is such an important holiday because it means we can spend the day
