Take-all Root Rot
Timing for take-all root rot prevention begins in mid- to late-summer when the average soil temperature at a 2” depth taken at 11 am declines below 85ºF for three consecutive days. Pythium Root Rot
Organisms causing Pythium root rot on cool-season greens become active earlier than previously thought, when average 2” soil temperatures reach 60ºF for three consecutive days. For warm-season putting greens, initiate applications in late-summer or early fall when soil temperatures drop below 80°F for three consecutive days. These applications should be watered-in with 0.125” of irrigation.
