Mettera’s story begins with a simple belief: construction doesn’t have to follow the same playbook as traditional contractors. Mettera is not a typical construction company. Unlike firms that constantly chase jobs to keep their operations running, Mettera was built to be selective. By focusing on fewer projects at a time, we give each development the attention it deserves, ensuring higher quality, stronger oversight, and lasting value for the communities we serve. That focus comes from experience. Roger Lundsten, co-owner and lead Project Manager, has spent more than 40 years in construction and has guided over 250 projects from concept to completion. His career spans everything from residential townhomes to complex steel structures, giving him the insight to anticipate challenges and keep projects moving. Alongside him, Casey Thompson brings nearly two decades of construction experience, managing schedules, subcontractors, and the daily rhythm of the jobsite. Together, they ensure projects are delivered with the quality and accountability Mettera is known for.

Mettera is strengthened by Marvin and Michelle Wanders, co-owners of Mettera and Three Sixty Real Estate Solutions, LLC, by providing the integration of construction and long-term asset management. Marvin and his wife, Michelle, began their real estate careers managing tax credit housing, Marvin in maintenance and Michelle in property management, before advancing to oversee more than 1,000 units across rural LIHTC and Section 8 markets. Their experience in onboarding new assets, punch list management, and warranty oversight ensures Mettera delivers projects that meet the expectations of owners, investors, and residents.

With more than 40 years of construction experience and over 250 successful projects, Roger Lundsten leads Mettera with unmatched expertise in project management, design oversight, code compliance, and cost control. Before co-founding Mettera, he spent 23 years at Brickl Brothers, Inc., managing projects that ranged from residential and commercial buildings to large-scale steel structures.
Today, Roger oversees all Mettera projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and built to last.

Louise ensures the fiscal health and transparency of Mettera’s projects, optimizing budgets and securing investments with over 40 years of accounting experience. A La Crosse native, she leads our accounting department with integrity, balancing fiscal responsibility with community-focused goals.
With nearly 30 years of real estate development experience, Kevin provides essential legal guidance in compliance, contracts, and risk management. His expertise safeguards project integrity and ensures Mettera operates with transparency and ethical standards.
Casey brings nearly 20 years of construction-industry experience, from fieldwork to executive leadership, with involvement in nearly $1 billion in projects nationwide. As founder of Quality Edge Builders, he emphasizes teamwork, collaboration, and clear communication to manage design, schedule, budget, and scope.

THE CANTERBURY RESIDENCES
Mettera’s history is rooted in delivering high-quality housing and community spaces that balance vision, efficiency, and accountability. From our first brownfield redevelopment to our most recent public-private partnership, each project demonstrates our ability to manage complex construction, navigate challenges, and deliver results that strengthen neighborhoods.
2018
Mettera’s first development, The Canterbury, transformed a brownfield site near the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. The project required removal of four homes and vacation of an alley to make way for two 12-unit townhome-style buildings. Sensitive to its neighborhood setting, Mettera minimized dust, noise, and disruption while completing the project on time and to standard.
GREAT RIVER RESIDENCES
2020
This 101-unit community featured four buildings, including a mixed-use building, two townhome-style buildings, and a 66-unit four-story building with underground parking. Built on a brownfield site, the project required soil remediation and collaboration with the MVAC, Mississippi Valley Archaeology Center, at UWL to monitor for artifacts. Despite unprecedented challenges from COVID-19, including supply delays, new safety protocols, and labor shortages, the project was successfully completed in summer 2020. MILLTOWN RESIDENCES Constructed in River Falls during the height of the pandemic, Milltown includes four 21-unit apartment buildings (84 units total). Rising material costs, product shortages, and an early winter made conditions difficult, but Mettera maintained its commitment to deadlines and budgets. The project was completed on schedule and under budget, reinforcing trust. ARCHWAY RESIDENCES Currently under construction in New Richmond, The Archway represents a public-private partnership with the city. The development includes a 9-unit townhome building, a 30,000 SF public library, and 69 apartments with underground parking. On track for an October 2025 opening, Archway demonstrates Mettera’s ability to deliver complex, multi-use projects within budget and aligned with community needs.

Guided by a “Safety First” policy, we partner with a third-party safety firm to perform inspections, identify risks, and create secure, clean worksites.
