Elkem has been committed to developing its business in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris agreement. This is an important com- mitment to society at large, whereby Elkem will develop products consistent with a low carbon society. The goal is to minimize the environmental impact of these products. For Elkem, sustainability is central to its business strat- egy. Fundamental to Elkem’s strategy is adhering to long- term megatrends — like sustainability, energy demand, urbanization, increased standard of living, aging and grow- ing population, and digitalization. This will drive growth in demand for advanced materials, including silicones, sili- con and carbon solutions.
