E ntering a new era of transatlantic connection, Israir’s maiden flight from New York landed smoothly in Israel earlier in October, carrying a full plane of enthusiastic passengers. Departing from Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in mid-October, the inaugural journey crossed
Driven by strong initial demand and the flawless completion of its first flight, the airline announced an immediate expansion of its schedule. Later in October, Israir will increase its frequency to three weekly non-stop flights between Israel and New York, providing international travelers, tourists, and the Jewish diaspora with a convenient and competitive new option for direct travel to the Holy Land.
Looking ahead to the upcoming travel season, Israir is already preparing for summer travelers. Reflecting on the flight’s success, Captain Yaron Mofaz described the arrival as a historic moment for the airline. He noted that the smooth 9-hour and 45-minute flight from JFK to Ben Gurion Airport demonstrated Israir’s full operational capability to operate safe, precise transatlantic routes. Captain Mofaz added that after
eighteen months of rigorous team preparation and fleet integration, the team proved that determination and a touch of Israeli chutzpah can light up the skies all the way to North America. Israir representatives highlighted that launching direct flights to New York represents a key step in the airline’s long-term growth strategy and global expansion.
