Anderson & Vreeland Presents New Platemaking Equipment
Anderson & Vreeland Inc. (A&V), a manufacturer and dis- tributor of flexographic print technologies, equipment, and supplies, showcased two newly-released pieces of plate- making equipment at Labelexpo Americas: The Orbital XP for water-wash and the AVxpose for thermal platemaking. The Orbital XP is a multi-functional plate processor available for processing water-wash plates up to 25 inch- es x 30 inches. It is now PLC controlled and fully automatic with a raising and lowering washout lid. With a fully auto- mated LED touch panel display, it is reportedly even sim- pler to use than before. It features an orbital washout, dual exposure section and an added detac combo drawer. In addition, the product has a heat/fume exhaust outlet for outside venting, a stainless-steel washout section to prevent corrosion, a dual orbital-action platen for an ef- ficient washout, vacuum pump and electronic solid-state ballasts. A thermostat controlled three drawer dryer uses forced hot air for efficient plate drying. It is also compatible with Anderson & Vreeland’s CL50 Whirl-a-way unit, which offers extra water filtering and particle separation. The all new AVXpose 3648 is a PLC controlled, high output exposure unit with dual post exposure and detac combo drawer designed for digital imaging and the ther- mal market. It also uses a fully automated LED touch panel display and operation. The new clamshell exposure lid and liquid cooled exposure bed is said to offer consistent ex- posure bed temps for optimal plate exposure.

Hybrid Software Launches New BrandZ Business Unit
Hybrid Software, developer of productivity tools for packaging and label printing, has formed a new business unit to provide hosted artwork management and 3D vi- sualization solutions for brands and consumer packaged goods companies. Hybrid Software BrandZ will be based in Gent, Belgium with dedicated sales and support teams based in western Europe and North America. The flagship product for the BrandZ unit is Artflow, an SaaS-based artwork management solution that reportedly helps brands, CPGs, and retailers manage their large port- folios of complex graphical projects.
