ERIC WEINBERG Selected for FBI Youth Summer Leadership Program YOUNG ACHIEVER
through detailed agendas and careful communication—as key to his success. When asked who he admires most, Eric points to his mother, Olga. “Her combination of optimism and pragmatism has had a huge impact on me,” he shares. “She’s an effective leader in our family, and her resilience and realistic outlook inspire me to lead with strength and compassion.” With plans to attend a four- year university after graduation, Eric is well on his way to making a meaningful impact—both in University Park and beyond. We can’t wait to see where his talents and dedication will take him next.
UNIVERSITY PARK IS proud to shine a spotlight on one of its own rising stars— Highland Park High School student Eric Weinberg. Since moving to the neighborhood from Boston nearly five years ago, Eric has immersed himself in academics, athletics, community service, and leadership initiatives, all while maintaining a strong sense of balance and purpose. Eric is currently a dedicated member of the Highland Park Varsity Tennis Team and participates in a wide range of extracurriculars, including the University Park Youth Advisory Commission, Congressional Youth Advisory Council (for Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne), Highland Park Latin Club, Young Men’s Service League, Brother Bill’s Helping Hand Youth Council, and piano. His passion for leadership and public service was further ignited during a family trip to Washington, D.C., where a visit to FBI headquarters led him to discover the FBI National Academy Associates Youth Leadership Program (FBINAA YLP). After a competitive selection process, Eric was accepted into this prestigious program, which focuses on leadership development through rigorous academic and physical training guided by experienced law enforcement professionals. “This program deepened my interest in government, law, and leadership,” Eric says. “It challenged me to grow personally and adapt to new experiences, helping me better understand my own strengths and areas for development.” Eric is especially drawn to history, government, and the criminal justice system. He enjoys speaking and writing, and his natural leadership qualities have allowed him to step confidently into roles where he can make a difference. Balancing his many commitments is no easy feat, but Eric credits time management strategies— such as prioritizing tasks, maintaining a to-do list, and staying organized
