Vital Steps to Get Your Home Ready for Holiday Guests The temperature continues to drop, and winter weather is on the horizon, which can only mean one thing: The holiday season is rapidly approaching. Many of us will decorate the house, get gifts for loved ones, and plan meals. But that’s just the beginning. If you have friends or family coming to stay with you for one of the upcoming holidays, you’ll have additional chores to create a welcoming environment for guests. A central focal point of the holidays is spending time with loved ones and cherishing your memories together. However, it’s tough to reminisce about the good old days or make new memories when you’ve been run ragged, or guests are uncomfortable or bored. You don’t need to worry about that during this year’s festivities because we’re here to help with essential tips to prepare your home for the perfect holiday get-together. Clean from top to bottom — early. We all get comfortable with a certain level of clutter in our homes, but once we know guests are coming to stay with us, it’s time to get cleaning. Go from room to room, removing and storing items that don’t need to be out. This is your chance to make your home look cleaner and more organized. This will give your guests more space to stretch out and get comfortable. Don’t stop with organizing and decluttering, either. Use this time to deep-clean the house by dusting, wiping down surfaces, and washing the linens your guests will use during their visit. And don’t forget to clean out the fridge! After cleaning and decluttering your house, your guests will feel like they’re staying at a five-star resort. Prepare the entertainment. You can’t host the holiday festivities without entertainment. You can plan all sorts of activities, like watching holiday movies, playing board games, singing karaoke, and spending time outside if the weather is nice. Which activities will entertain your guests the most depends on their interests. If you don’t know them well enough to figure out what they will like, don’t be
afraid to ask them. They’ll enjoy their visit much more if they can participate in some of their favorite get-together activities. Plan out what food and drinks you’ll serve when considering your entertainment options. There’s a lot to consider between the big meal, hors d’oeuvres, breakfast, drinks, and snacks. If you’re unsure about a specific item, ask your guests what they think. Keep your guests in mind with every decision you make. Add festive touches to the space. When friends and family visit for the holidays, make sure your house looks the part. If you’re hosting people for Thanksgiving, head to your local crafts store to pick up some pumpkins and a ceramic turkey. During Christmas, be sure your house shows off your Christmas spirit by adding snowmen, string lights, and a Christmas tree! By creating a festive atmosphere, your guests will love taking pictures at your home to remember the occasion! Hosting guests for the holidays can be stressful, but you can reduce the stress by preparing appropriately beforehand. If you’re unsure, just check with your guests; they’ll provide reassurance if your idea will work or guidance if an adjustment is needed. The next few months are the most wonderful time of the year, so enjoy them to the fullest!

Once you form teams, create the playing field by setting up small cones or beanbags to mark boundaries and end zones. Follow the Rules torso or anywhere, etc. You also have to decide if a team doesn’t score, whether the opposing team takes over from where the ball ended up, or whether each team has a set starting point for each drive. Once you prepare everything, it’s time to hit the field. You can determine which team gets the ball first with a GET IN THE GAME
the MVP of family games! Make Balanced Teams
Before you start playing, ensure both teams agree on the rules. There are obvious ones, like where the end zones are, how many points a touchdown is worth, and how many downs each team has — either to get a touchdown or, space permitting, a first down. You also must determine what constitutes a player as “down” — when one or two hands touch the player with the ball, whether they need to be touched on the
