9: THE JOB INTERVIEW
WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER THE MOST IMPORTANT IDEA YOU CONTRIBUTED OR YOUR MOST NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENT IN YOUR LAST JOB? Give examples of ways in which you saved the employer time or money or developed a procedure that improved efficiency. Any leadership opportunities you took on should be highlighted. If possible, use examples that directly relate to position you are interviewing for. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THREE YEARS? If you are aware that the company promotes from within, you could mention that you would be interested in additional opportunities within the company once you prove your value within the job you are currently interviewing for. If you are close to retirement age, an employer will want to know that the time and money they invest in training you for the job will pay off. Structure your answer to this question in a way that will assure them that you are a good investment.
IF YOU WERE HIRED, WHAT IDEAS/ TALENTS COULD YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THIS POSITION OR OUR COMPANY? This is another great opportunity for you to sell your skills. By giving examples of past accomplishments, you help the employer visualize your contribution to the company. Some organizations are looking for fresh perspectives but be careful not to criticize their current process; instead, give examples of how to enhance what they already do well.
