Theodore F. Johnson 1941–2018 University Executive, Magistrate Brother Theodore

One not to forget his roots and his ties to his home community, Brother Johnson proudly served as a former Vice President of the Northampton County High School Alumni Association. Through this organization, he helped to enhance the opportunities for the success of African American youth in Northampton County by encouraging students to become actively involved in the educational process and assisting students financially to bring into fruition their dreams and aspirations. A Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , Johnson was affiliated with Brooklyn- Long Island (NY) Alumni and the Cape Charles-Accomack (VA) Alumni Chap- ters respectively. In 1998, he became a charter member of the Woodbridge (VA) Alumni Chapter as was also a founding member and Vice President of the Kappa Foundation of Wood- bridge. Brother Johnson’s expertise and reputation led him to receive numerous fraternal awards. Predeceased by his parents, Brother Theodore Johnson is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughters, Kimberly Tucker (Dexter) and Wanda Gant (Darnell); brother, Carl Johnson (Estelle) and grandson Darius Tucker and a host of relatives, friends and fraternity brothers. LTC Kenneth A. Lee M.D. (Ret.) 1948–2018 Family Physician, U.S. Army Brother LTC Ken- neth Amos Lee, MD

In 1958, Lee and his family moved to Chester County PA where his father practiced medicine in Coatesville, PA. After high school graduation, he con- tinued the family tradition and enrolled in Lincoln University. While at Lincoln University, he joined the fraternity as a 1967 initiate of the Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi ® . He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Pre-Medicine in 1970. He subsequently entered MeHarry Medical College in 1970 and graduated September of 1970. He completed his medical studies and training in 1975. After the completion of his residency in Dayton, OH, Lee enrolled as a commis- sioned officer as a Captain in the United States Army in 1976, practicing as a Family Practitioner. His first duty station was at Fort Meade, MD which was the start of delivering hundreds of babies and caring for mili- tary service members and their families. Lee served two tours of duty in South Korea, served at Fort Gordon, GA, Fort Hood, TX, Womack Army Medical Center Fort Bragg, NC and one tour in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany. For his remaining five years in the military until his retire- ment, he practiced medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX. Lee earned many awards and achievements throughout his 24 years of service and rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Residing in El Paso and Harker Heights, TX, Lee enjoyed volunteering his time includings as Past Polemarch of the El Paso – Las Cruces (TX) Alumni Chap- ter of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , Lee was also a member of The Rocks, Inc., Inter-Club Council, a board member at Christ Cathedral Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Broth- er Kenneth A. Lee is survived by his wife Okwan; three daughters, Regina, Ashly and Shelly; brother, Daniel Lee, Jr.; sister Sharon Hicks; grandchildren, Aaron and Mya.

Franklin “Ted” John- son (Alpha Epsilon 1961) entered the Chapter Invisible on November 15, 2018. Brother Johnson was born on November 21, 1941, in Salisbury,

MD; the second child born to the late Gilbert and Margaret Johnson. He was reared in Northampton County, VA and attended Northampton County Public Schools, where he graduated salutatorian of his class at Northampton County High School in 1960. He then attended Johnson C. Smith and earned a B.S. Degree in Economics in 1964. He completed further academic studies at Cornell University. After college, Johnson moved to New York City and worked for the Social Ser- vices Department as a Manager of Case Workers. He moved to the Washington, D.C., area where he pursued a very successful career in higher education administration. He was employed at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) where he served in a number of capacities, including the Director of Evening Student Services, Director of Ancillary Services, Assistant to the Vice President of Finance, and Executive Assistant to the Comptroller. Among his most notable achievements at UDC was executing the revamping of the univer- sity bookstore operations, which was recognized as an efficiently completed initiative and a smooth operation for both students and staff. After retiring from UDC, Johnson was appointed as a Magistrate by the Execu- tive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia. After successfully completing the Court’s Laws and Codes Program, he became a Magistrate for the 15 th Judicial District and the first African American Magistrate in Stafford County, a position he held until his illness.

Lee was the second child of three chil- dren to the parents of Dr. Daniel Lee, Sr and Thelma Modestine Ragin. The Lee family lived on the campus of Lincoln (PA) University and later moved to Pott- stown, PA until 1954 when his father was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Germany for two years.
