I t is with great pleasure that I bring to you the State of the Kappa Alpha Psi ® Foundation, and the status of our “New Way Forward” Strategic direction for the year of 2018. of the Association of Black Foundation Executives, and the CEO/ Foundation Presidents Board of the Executive Alli- ance of Boys and Men of Color. We held educational forums, social events, competitive sport- ing events and networking opportuni- ties. Basketball Hall of Fame members, Brothers Oscar Robinson and Samuel Jones, served as Honorary Co- Chairs again this year. We also had the Chair- woman of the Board and President of the United States Tennis Association, Katrina Adams, and Dr. Freeman A. Hrabowski, President of the University of Maryland, in attendance as VIPs. Over 300 guests were in attendance this year at this spectacular event. Well done to Brother Adkins and the committee again for doing a great job!

Your Kappa Alpha Psi ® Foundation con- tinues to grow and define its direction and purpose in serving our largest donor community, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and the causes that enhance our communities across the country. In year three of our journey, we held our second annual National Signature Event, “Building the Dream Klassic” under the leadership of our Board VP & Laurel Wreath Wearer Brother Rodney Adkins. Again, this spectacular event was held at the PGA National Resort and Spa, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida in March of this year. This event grossed $636K, and after expenses net-

The Foundation also expanded our partnerships with other Foundations such as Kellogg’s and the Kenan Trust. Both have yielded $300K and $150K in grant opportunities that we have fun- neled through Alumni Chapters via the Naviance College prep program, and for programs focused on building self- esteem and confidence with our young men through Guide Right programs. Thanks to Brother Berryman and Brother Viney for Building these relationships for the Foundation.
