THE GALLERY: NATIONAL FOUNDERS' DAY

Founders so that they can have the capac- ity for reaching wise decisions as they continue their Kappa journey. There’s an alarm at the gate my brothers. There’s a prosecuting attorney gathering evidence with the sole purpose of con- demnation and conviction, with no intent to seek justice on our behalf. Brother Butts could not have been clearer in stating the case for this 108th year of our fraternity. For me, this 14 th National Founders’ Day was the most dynamic of all. It was held in a great city, venue and had character fitting for the greatest fraternity in the land. And after Dr. Butts took his seat, our 33 rd Grand Polemarch Thomas L. Battles, Jr., called him back and presented him an honorarium. Once again, the vision of our Founders was made manifest in the room when Brother Butts returned the honorarium and admonished us that a brother shouldn’t accept an honorarium to speak in his own organization. He asked us to heed this advice if ever we are called to speak to our fraternity. Thanks Brother Butts, and my dear brothers, hear ye him and heed his advice.
