Dr. Samuel H. Sutherland, Presi– dent of BIOLA, opens the con– vocation service on September 11th (broadcast September 16th) and points out to the young people the many pressing spiritual needs of thE' world today. An even greater emphasis on evangelism and mis– sionary activity will be felt this year, and while, of course, aca– demic training is the finest to be secured . anywhere, the spiritual quality remains of paramount con- cern for faculty, staff and students. Also new this year, young peo– ple can come to BIOLA and secure "'"their t e a c h e r ' s credentials for placement in public schools . as well as Christian day schools. The Bible Institute of Los An– geles is composed of four separate and distinct schools; each per– forming a specific ministry in the field of Christian education. The Bible Institute, a two year course, presenting the fundamen– tals of the Word of God, the BIOLA Bible College, 4 year ac– credited school offering the Bach- elor of Arts Degree, the Talbot Theological Seminary, 3 year post– graduate training leading to Bach– elor of Divinity, and the School of Missionary Medicine, a one year intensive medical study. Pray for this outstanding group of young people as they prepare themselves for the service of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you know young people who are looking for the finest of training, have them use the blank below for complete information.

pastors and 1000 Christians. At this rate, we are losing the plan of God for each of us to be soul-winners. It's a matter of per– centage record that more people are being brought into the world, and we Christians so often sit com– placently by not realizing the tre– mendous need of this crucial hour. Paul says: "Awake to righteous– ness and sin not, for some have not the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame." Not only is it thrilling to be able to share the inspiring letters which you have sent in telling of the blessing you've received from the Bible Institute Hour, but also, we are daily refreshed to hear our students come back from their Christian service assignments to tell of the many men, women, boys and girls who found Christ through their dedicated lives. Those people found in jails, along skid-row, in hospitals, churches, youth groups as well as those they contact in every walk of life day to day. But we have not forgotten that you are enabling all this activity to go forward through your gifts to the Bible Institute Hour. Please do not forget, with your prayers and gifts, these young people as they learn at BIOLA the great truths of the Word of God and how to put them into everyday practice. May the Lord richly bless you for your sacrificial stew– ardship. ligion. This motion picture has just been completed after being rushed to this country. It will prove to be excellent for pastors all over the country who are desirous of a– wakening in the hearts of their churches the tremendous need in the Orient.

Al Sonders, Director of BIOLA Radio and Lloyd Hamill, Managing Editor of the King's Business, hove announced that a free one year's subscription to the BIOLA monthly publication will be given to each person sending ten dollars or more to the ministry of the Bible In– stitute Hour. It's better to sleep over what you're going to . do, than to be kept awoke thinking about what you've done. * * * * What ever you think, both in joy and in woe, think nothing you wouldn't want Jesus to know. What ever you say in whisper or clear, Say nothing you wouldn't want Jesus to hear. Whatever you sing in the midst of your glee Sing nothing God's listening ear would displease. Whatever you write with haste or with heed, Write nothing you wouldn't want Jesus to read. What ever you read, though the page may allure, Read nothing, unless you're perfectly sure Consternation would not be seen in your look If Christ should say solemnly, "Show Me that book!" Wherever you go, never go where you would fear God's question being asked you: "What doest thou here?" * * * * You can't change the post, but you con ''!in a perfectly good present, by worrying about the future. * * * Remember running people down is bad business, whether you're a motorist or a gossip. * * * * When man thinks his mind his getting brooder, it's probably only his conscience stretching. * * * • If you want assurance and victory in your daily life, read the Bible: 1. Not as a newspaper, but as a home letter. 2. JI a cluster of heavenly fruit hangs within reach, gather it. 3. If a promise lies upon the pages as a blank check, cash it. 4. If a prayer is recorded, appropriate it, and launch it as a feathered arrow from the bow of your desires. 5. If an example of holiness gleams before you, ask God to do as much for you. 6. If the truth is revealed in all of its intrinsic splendor, entreat that its brilliance may ever irradiate the hemi– sphere of your life. • * * • If you sample the Word of God only occasionally, you'll never acquire much of a taste for it• .. .... . ............ . . . .. . . . . .... .. ... DID YOU KNOW That with every second that posses, four people, who hove never placed their faith and trust In our Lord Jesus go to a Christless eternity? It's a fact. Just think of this picture, which Is not pretty, and yet It Is Just one more reason for the existence of the Bible Institute of Los An– geles.
