PSYCH 3233 LEARNING AND COGNITION Overview of traditional and contemporary principles and theories of learning and memory. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003 . S PSYCH 3243 MULTI-CULTURAL/CROSS-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY Identifies psychological similarities and differences among various cultural groups within American society and explores cultural issues in a psychotherapeutic setting. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F PSYCH 3253 PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTS The construction, validation, and interpretation of psychological tests with emphasis on the application of tests to the clinical evaluation of the individual. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003 and PSYCH 2433 . F PSYCH 3263 PSYCHOLOGY OF VIDEO GAMING AND GAMING Course will examine psychological principles and theories applied to video game play and design; consequences of video game play; and use of video games across multiple settings such as entertainment, health care and education. F, S PSYCH 3323 ABNORMAL PSYCHOLOGY A study of the history, theories, principles, and causes of abnormal behavior including an analysis of various therapy techniques. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, S, SU PSYCH 3333 BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT Provides an introduction to behavior modification techniques in applied settings. The major focus of the course is on the application of operant conditioning principles, the implementation of behavior modification techniques, and the measurement and evaluation of program effectiveness in a variety of settings. F, S PSYCH 3353 PSYCHOLOGY FOR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS Provides a focused exploration of psychological theories, principles and concepts and how these are used in explaining and improving the behavior of professionals and those they work with in health care settings. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, S PSYCH 3363 PSYCHOLOGY OF PERSONALITY An analysis and comparison of major personality theories including a review of research that tests propositions from the various theories. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, SU PSYCH 3373 PSYCHOLOGY FOR HEALTH CARE LEADERS Provides a focused exploration of psychological theories, principles and concepts and how these are used in explaining and improving the behavior of professionals in the health professions and those they work with in health care settings with an emphasis on leadership among health care professions. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. SU PSYCH 3503 INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY A study of psychological principles relevant to business and industry. Major topics include employee selection, training and evaluation, leadership, motivation, social groups, human factors, stress, and consumer psychology. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, S, SU PSYCH 4011-4 SEMINAR IN PSYCHOLOGY (TOPIC) Seminar in selected areas of psychology with special emphasis placed upon theories and application in the topic areas. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, S PSYCH 4113 SUBSTANCE USE AND DISORDERS Explores issues related to chemical abuse, dependency, and addictive behaviors with a focus on current treatment approaches. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. S

Students serve under selected recreational professionals in a variety of local, state, federal and non-profit agencies. F, S, SU PSYCH 2302 FOUNDATIONS FOR PSYCHOLOGY An introduction to the field of psychology with an overview of the sub- divisions of the field and career opportunities in the field and related areas. A course designed to increase familiarity with concepts related to the use of data description, analysis, and use in making assertions that involve data and statistics. An emphasis on the development of skills related to calculating and interpreting descriptive statistics within context as well as interpreting statistical analyses within context . F, SU PSYCH 2331 PSYCHOLOGY CAREER PLANNING This course is designed to introduce students to career opportunities within the field of Psychology . Prerequisite: PSYCH-1003. F, S PSYCH 2423 SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY A scientific survey of the social determinants of behavior including a review of contemporary theory and methodology involved in studying social behavior. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003. F PSYCH 2433 PSYCHOLOGICAL STATISTICS Prerequisite or Corequisite: PSYCH 1003. F, S PSYCH 2323 STATISTICAL REASONING Statistical methods applied to the behavioral sciences. An introduction to the concepts and applications of descriptive and inferential statistics. Covers topics from central tendency to analysis of variance. F, S, SU PSYCH 2452 PSYCHOLOGICAL STATISTICS PROBLEM SOLVING This course is designed to give students an extra opportunity to work with concepts and techniques from Psychological Statistics. Corequisite: PSYCH-2433. F, S PSYCH 3201-4 CONTEMPORARY PROBLEMS IN PSYCHOLOGY (TOPIC) Analysis of current topics in psychology. This course offers the student and instructor an opportunity to explore in depth selected problems of current interest. Credit one to four semester hours. Prerequisite: PSYCH 1003 .
