PHARM 6712 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR THE PHARMACIST Two credit hour course. Personal finance topics including budgeting, debt management, taxes, retirement planning, investing, buying a car, buying a house, evaluating employment benefits, saving strategies, student loan repayments, insurance needs, and estate planning will be discussed. The goal of this course is to inform students about the financial decisions and the consequences of those decisions upon graduation and employment as a pharmacist. PHARM 6811 INTRODUCTION TO BIOINFORMATICS, NETWORK PHARMACOLOGY, & GENE THERAPY One credit hour course. This elective course will introduce students to the principles and applications of bioinformatics and network pharmacology in identifying drug targets. Students will gain hands-on experience with bioinformatics tools and learn to analyze and interpret databases through hands-on training, lectures, and discussions. This course will also introduce students to the concepts and applications of gene-based therapeutics as an important component of personalized medicine.

PHARM 6682 INTRODUCTION TO INFECTIOUS DISEASE Two credit hour course. Interactive elective course that introduces the pharmacy student to basic principles of infectious disease pharmacotherapy. A strong emphasis will be given to the mechanism of action, spectrum of activity, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, adverse effects, and drug interactions associated with various antimicrobial drug classes. This course is designed to develop the skills necessary to formulate appropriate antimicrobial regimens to treat common infectious diseases . PHARM 6692 ADVANCED TOPICS IN INFECTIOUS DISEASE Two credit hour course. Interactive elective course offering pharmacy students an in-depth study of advanced infectious disease topics. Using case studies, students will apply clinical reasoning to develop and justify evidence-based antimicrobial treatment plans. The course emphasizes clinical decision-making, infection management, and antimicrobial stewardship, preparing students for advanced pharmacy practice.
