A very good copy, the covers quite browned with some foxing to the contents. [42641] £150 In the story, an eight-year-old girl, who hates to see animals killed for fun, develops a special power, similar to that of Matilda. The book was part of a project in which a group of writers were asked to create a story for children with a limited vocabulary. However, Dahl’s pub- lishers were initially wary of repercussions from the US gun lobby and so waited until their option to publish had expired. It was later published by Harper & Row in New York under the present title.

A near fine copy, clean with bright lettering to the spine. Light tape ghost- ing to endpapers, with some light spotting to preliminaries. [42327] £750 The US edition was published earlier the same year. Fantastic Mr Fox formed the basis for Wes Anderson’s 2009 film of the same name and has been successfully adapted into both a stage play and an opera.
