Flexo Market News

Attendees were most concerned (in order) with ways to improve employee engagement; how to re- cruit sales talent; how to grow revenue; how to re- cruit strong people; how to pay and incentivize customer service reps; building and maintaining a strong corporate culture; how to build a compensa- tion plan for sales people; how to increase profits; and how to improve customer loyalty. The full comments from the participants will be made available soon by the TLMI. Making A Connection Sports Agent Molly Fletcher kicked off the second day of programming by speaking about the ways to connect in business. “Leaders lean into change,” Fletcher said. “Compla- cency is the enemy of success. The more we chal- lenge ourselves, the better we perform.” All business, Fletcher said, is based on relationship building.“We need to get into the heads and hearts of those we serve,” she said.“You must have the courage to ask tough questions to better serve customers.” Fletcher once asked a golf pro what separated good golfers from great golfers. The answer was that great players recover from adversity quicker than anyone else. Fletcher said she’s found the same thing in busi- ness. Everyone has tough days, difficult problems, but great leaders learn how to work through them and come out stronger on the other end. Becoming A Hero Motivational speaker Kevin Brown wrapped up the conference with a presentation on the Hero Effect. He stated that the typical definition of a hero — an ordinary person doing extraordinary things — is misplaced, chiefly because he does not believe in ‘ordinary’ people. Because he believes that every person should view themselves as extraordinary, he thinks the definition of hero should be changed to, “Heroes are extraordinary people who choose not to be ordinary.” He added a number of thoughts that he says moti- vates great companies and leaders. •What got you here won’t keep you here. • No one cares if you’ve been brilliant before, you have to be brilliant now. • What can I do to add value to the people I serve and serve with? • You can never do wrong doing the right thing. Don’t ask what’s in it for me. • You want to be THE choice, not A choice. • People are seeking validation.
