Simple Structures A Simple Structure includes anchors, poles, sign posts, and other like structures that are not connected to other more complex structures such as fences and buildings. Considerations: • Underground structures should be placed in locations greater than 0.6 metres (2 feet) from Pipelines. • Despite anything to the contrary, Simple Structures within the Right of Way or 1.5 metres (5 feet) of the Pipeline where no Right of Way exists may be removed by SaskEnergy at the Grantee or owner’s expense if access is required to construct, inspect, maintain, alter, replace or repair the Pipeline, or if a safety concern arises. • For site preparation, see Minor Landscaping or Major Landscaping, as applicable. Allowed under the following conditions: 1) Simple Structures must be placed at least 0.3 metres (12 inches) from the Pipeline. 2) Simple Structures may be placed with a powered auger or post pounder if the offset is more than 0.6 metres (2 feet) from the Pipeline. 3) Mechanical Excavation is allowed within 0.6 metres (24 inches) of the Pipeline, only if additional Hand Digging or Hydro-Vac inspection is completed to visually verify the pipeline location at the point nearest the mechanical excavation. 4) Hand Digging, or Hydro-Vac excavation, to any depth where depth of cover over the Pipeline and Pipeline Right of Way is maintained, or restored. Prohibited: 1) Any Simple Structure that is not expressly allowed above is prohibited. 2) Simple structures within 0.3 metres (1 foot) of a Pipeline. 3) Rigid connections to other structures (see Fences, Unenclosed Structures, or Enclosed Structures).
All distances are relative to the Pipeline and not the line locate markers (e.g. flag, stake or paint) and are deemed accurate if placed within one metre horizontal distance from the Pipeline. Visit www.saskenergy.com/planningadigproject
