Enclosed Structure A structure that is covered, has less than 20% open wall space, and may trap natural gas; including without limitation, a shed, hot tub, greenhouse, grain bin, tank or other like structure. Considerations: • Preference is for structures on skids that enable movement and improve accessibility. • Despite anything to the contrary, structures within the Right of Way or 1.5 metres (5 feet) of the Pipeline where no Right of Way exists may be removed by SaskEnergy at the Grantee or owner’s expense if access is required to construct, inspect, maintain, alter, replace or repair the Pipeline, or if a safety concern arises. • SaskEnergy’s opinion as to what constitutes a safety hazard may change over time as standards change or new information becomes available. • For site preparation, see Minor Landscaping or Major Landscaping, as applicable. Allowed under the following conditions: 1) Smaller than 10 square metres (108 square feet) in floor area. 2) Located more than 1.5 metres (5 feet) from the intersection of buried Pipelines. 3) Free unrestricted access to the SaskEnergy gas meter, regulator, and shutoff valve shall be maintained, with a minimum 0.4 metres (16 inches) of horizontal offset to permanent structures. 4) Structures with an ignition source (e.g. electric components) within the enclosed space only when located more than 0.3 metres (1 foot) from a pipeline. 5) Have a minimum ventilation area of 400 square centimetres (64 square inches) located on the roof, or on walls within 50 centimetres (20 inches) of the peak of the roof. 6) Hand Digging, or Hydro-Vac excavation, to any depth where depth of cover over the Pipeline and Pipeline Right of Way is maintained, or restored. Prohibited: 1) Any Enclosed Structure that is not expressly allowed above is prohibited. 2) Structures that have a Foundation, 3) Structures with an ignition source (e.g. electric components) within the enclosed space located within 0.3 metres (1 foot) of a pipeline
All distances are relative to the Pipeline and not the line locate markers (e.g. flag, stake or paint) and are deemed accurate if placed within one metre horizontal distance from the Pipeline. Visit www.saskenergy.com/planningadigproject
