SURREY WEDDINGS & CEREMONIES

What happens on the day? Couple arrive and pre-ceremony meeting Before the ceremony starts, the registrar needs to meet the couple to make sure that all the details for the legal documents are correct - this is a legal requirement on the day. You can meet the registrar together or separately, it’s your choice. If you plan to arrive together, we recommend you arrive to see the registrar at least 30 minutes before the ceremony is due to start. If you plan to arrive separately, we recommend that one of you arrives to see the registrar 30 minutes before the ceremony, and the other 15 minutes before. Don’t forget to factor in time for any pre-ceremony photographs and try not to keep your partner waiting - this reduces the stress levels for everyone! Guests arrive Ask your guests to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ceremony. Remember to make allowances for traffic delays. Check where parking is for you and your guests and let them know. Arrival of processional party You may wish to enter the ceremony room together or you may wish to enter separately and be escorted into the ceremony room and formally presented by a person of your choice.
