Meat & Potatoes Award
Lot 32
Our annual Meat & Potatoes Award is one that is coveted among the bull pen and is a selection the committee takes very seriously. That being said, if we were to snub the widest built, deepest bodied bull to ever call HVF home of the award, that would be a mistake. A true outlier for volume, dimension, and hasn’t stepped off the gas for ADG a singe day yet. His mother Karol was an amazing Christmas gift from my parents a few years back, and she out produced herself with a Christmas dinner-sized portion of beef this year.
A favorite all along, this bull brings all the extras and he’s proud to wear them. At the top of the pen at weaning time and hasn’t looked back. He’s long and strong and ready for heavy ranching.
Last year, the rookie crop of HZN Kickstarts captured the attention of breeders and commercial cattlemen alike. One of my favorite sire groups, they are at the top of the pen for performance, mass and style. So much so, it’s hard to believe they are all out of first calf heifers. Bid with confidence - the consistency, quality, and cow family are all worth your operations’ consideration.
LOT 34 Go ahead and get your pen out and start making a few stars on this lot. He’s the type that will work and work well in a variety of scenarios. 76lb birthweight to 1378 at a year, this long-bodied stout-featured rascal has impressed at every step along the way.
