11. U.S. Constitution Requirement The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing also requires that a teaching credential candidate must have completed a minimum two-unit course that covers the U.S. Constitution or fulfill this requirement by examination. Approved U.S. Constitution Coursework Coursework must be reviewed by the Credential Analyst. If an exam is required, a U.S. Constitution exam and study packet is available in Biola’s School of Education. Candidates who have taken the course listed below, with a grade of “C” or better at Biola University, have met this requirement.

4. Minimum GPA Requirements All education and subject-specific pedagogy courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher with the exception of the student teaching courses listed below. Overall, a 2.75 GPA must be maintained in the teacher preparation course sequence. In order to achieve this GPA requirement, a grade of “C” may only be earned in one of the Teacher Preparation courses. Student Teaching Minimum Grade Requirements Student teaching courses must be completed with a grade of “B-” or higher for the candidate to be recommended for a Preliminary Teaching Credential.
