Dissertation Normally a student must take a minimum of two units for up to a maximum of 4 semesters to be considered full-time. Unit(s): 1 - 5. ISCL 881 - D.Miss. Dissertation Proposal After completing the comprehensive exams, the student begins work to finalize the proposal, which includes selecting a chair and a committee, attaining PHRRC permission, successfully defending the proposal to the committee, and making all pre-field research arrangements. Once all these steps are completed, the student is cleared to begin actual field research. Note(s): The student is considered full time while enrolled in this course. Unit(s): 2. ISCL 882 - D.Miss. Continuous Enrollment Students who need extra time to work on first or final draft of the dissertation are required to register for this course to maintain degree status.
