Graduation Requirements 1. The candidate must complete the online Master of Arts in Teaching with a 3.0 cumulative GPA. 2. The candidate must successfully complete SEED 594, Action Research, and all professional requirements related to the coursework and learning outcomes. 3. A minimum of 30 units is required for the online Master of Arts in Teaching. 4. The candidate must meet with a department advisor and Graduate Graduation Counselor in the Office of the Registrar one year prior to graduation to declare intent to graduate. (See Graduate Graduation Check description in Admissions, Registration & Graduation Requirements section). Transfer of Credits / Units Students transferring from an accredited graduate program may transfer a maximum of six (6) approved units for their M.A. in Teaching. Courses transferred must be equivalent to Biola University ʼ s and have direct applicability to the student ʼ s program design. Only courses with a grade of “B” (3.0) on a 4.0 grade scale or higher will be considered for transfer towards the M.A. in Teaching degree; a grade of “B-“ is not transferable. Units considered for transfer must have been taken within five years prior to the date of admission. The entire M.A.T. core must be taken at Biola University. Master of Arts in Education Teaching Concentration (Online) Admission Requirements The following are required for admission into the online M.A.Ed. Teaching Concentration Program: • Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. • Hold a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. • Hold a California SB2042 Preliminary Credential. • Clear Credential Candidates must verify that a commission-approved induction program is not available through their employer by submitting the CL-855 CTC form. Induction Candidates must provide verification of enrollment in a state-approved induction program. • Clear Credential Candidate must submit the Coach and Placement Information form. • Verify computer literacy sufficient to become actively engaged in learning online by passing an online proficiency test offered by Biola University ʼ s Distance Learning Department or providing proof of successful online learning in a prior course. • Verify access to a computer and the Internet sufficient to engage in Biola University ʼ s Distance Learning Programs. • Submit a passing score on the TOEFL and / or TWE passing score earned for international students before admission. • Complete Biola University ʼ s Graduate Education Application. • Interview with a member of the School of Education.

Teaching Concentration Program Requirements The online M.A. in Education with a Teaching Concentration requires the following: 1. Note Students admitted to the Multiple or Single Subject Clear Credential program at Biola University will enroll in a 3-unit course for each of four semesters (a maximum of 12 units toward M.A. credit). After four semesters, the course can be taken additionally without credit. In some cases, candidates may be able to complete the Clear Credential requirements in less than four semesters.

Note Students completing a state-approved induction program may apply up to 12 units of Biola student teaching graduate credit to their M.A. in Education in lieu of induction units. However, students must complete the state-approved induction program and earn a Clear credential prior to receiving the M.A.Ed. degree.
