AIKEN (SC) ALUMNI CHAPTER On April 27, 2024, the Aiken (SC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. organized their 7th Annual Kappa Scholarship Cookoff at the Mt. Anna Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. The event showcased a wide range of dishes prepared by the brothers, including BBQ, Southern Cuisine, Asian Cuisine, and Jamaican-inspired dishes. The event had over 150 guests in attendance, and the chapter was able to raise a significant amount of money for our foundation to provide scholarships for graduating seniors. The chapter also hosted and honored brothers from visiting chapters for their support. Brother Mike Myers from the Southeastern Province took part in our Mystery Meat competition. He was tasked with guessing 8 different meats on the plate and successfully identified 7 out of the 8 dishes. In tribute to one of our charter members, Brother Ervin Baxter, the chapter incorporated some of his recent hunts into our mystery meat segment, including raccoon, alligator, and rabbit. Additionally, dignitaries from the City of Aiken attended the event and served as secret judges for the competition. Brother Holland, a Fall ’79 initiate of
KINGSTREE (SC) ALUMNI CHAPTER The Kingstree (SC) Alumni Chapter acknowledged the Achievement in the Arts by Brother Harry McFadden as he showcased his work as the featured artist at a solo art show entitled "The Audacity of Pluto." The chapter also worked to ensure that their impact was experienced in the community by volunteering for several community initiatives. From assisting the Junior League of Florence with a community diapers and wipes giveaway to participating in local annual Breast Cancer Walk. Over the past few years, there have been many individuals and families by Covid 19. The brothers of the chapter are still working to spread the word of prevention and awareness. To assist in their efforts, the chapter donated sanitizer and face masks to the Lake City Public Library while the Senior Kappas provided donations to Lake City Scranton Health Care. The chapter celebrated their 59th charter day anniversary with the community by sponsoring a free cookout.
