ALUMNI NEWS
LAWRENCEVILLE-DULUTH (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER This spring, The Lawrenceville-Duluth (GA) Alumni Chapter had various opportunities to celebrate others and make impacts in their community. In April, Brother Darryl Johnson and the Atlanta Tight Lines Bass Club hosted our Kappa Leaguers this past weekend for the annual fishing outing. Senior Kappa Leaguer, David Walker, was awarded a new fishing reel by the ATL Tight Line Bass Club for his selfless act of kindness in helping a younger Kappa Leaguer who had not caught a fish all morning.
Also in April, brothers of the chapter laced up their sneakers for their Elevate 5K Run/Walk & Health Fair. The efforts to bring this day of health, fitness, and community spirit with Gwinnett residents to pass was spearheaded by Brother Torris Lloyd, Brother Dr. Eric High, and Brother Dr. Adrian Douglas.
In the month of May, the chapter took time to celebrate the members of their Kappa League program and their families with an End of the Year Social event. That same weekend, the chapter awarded scholarships to deserving Kappa Leaguers and students from the community. The chapter has set a goal of awarding more than 1 million dollars in scholarships and they are well on their way.
