CEED 271 - Evangelism and Follow-up An overview of the biblical principles of evangelism and follow-up. The class will seek to develop the skills of personal evangelism and explore biblical teachings regarding teaching and nurturing as they apply to local church and parachurch agencies. CEED 312 - Christian Ministry Skills Includes instruction and skill development in a variety of functions expected of those in full-time Christian ministry, including examples such as: public speaking and giving extemporaneous remarks, public prayer, worship service introductions, worship service coordination, working with church boards and pastoral leadership, conducting meetings, leading church staff, selecting staff, conducting the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper; and essentials regarding conducing weddings, funerals, hospital visitation, and pre- engagement training as time permits. CEED 319 - Media in Ministry Skill development in the design and use of audio-visual technology for use in ministry to all age levels and in a wide variety of teaching settings. CEED 320 - Methods of Bible Study Foundational development of the Inductive Bible study method applied to narrative and epistolary literature with additional methods explored including biographical, topical, book, and word study. CEED 326 - Counseling Methods Investigation of foundations for pastoral counseling to individuals and families in ministry settings. CEED 330 - Biblical Research & Interpretation Evaluation of various Bible translations and instruction in the use of computer-based biblical research tools with an emphasis on the use of these tools for the development of instructional lesson plans. CEED 373 - Christian Education of Youth Examination of the adolescent in our culture with emphasis upon designing a ministry to this age level within the context of the local church and parachurch agencies. Each student will prepare a model ministry to this age level (junior high through college) for use in enlistment and training of workers and parents. Students may choose 372 or 374. CEED 374 - Christian Education of Adults Focus on understanding the needs and development of contemporary adults. Discovery of the uniqueness of adult learning and investigation of design, curricula, methods, and implementation of educational programs for the church and other agencies. CEED 380 - Internship I: Career Development Personal and interactive evaluation of the student’s calling to Christian ministry, including character, gifts, interests, and abilities. Field observations and other experiences designed to give perspective and aid in subsequent placement in vocational practicum and future employment in Christian education agencies. CEED 390 - Programming for Christian Ministries Focus on cultural exegesis, programming, and curriculum development for a Christian ministry setting (Church or parachurch). Age-specified focus (children, youth, adult) of programming will be discussed, including evangelism and discipleship models. Key focus of the course will include internship preparation.
