A Lasting Impression on the Waterfront

Canada Place is a national icon and a global gateway. Set along Vancouver’s dramatic waterfront, it welcomes millions each year through its cruise terminal, convention center, and scenic promenade. To support this dynamic, high-traffic destination, Prospect & Refuge Landscape Architects curated a suite of furnishings that reflect both the prestige of the site and the pace of everyday use. The selected elements bring visual unity to the public realm while meeting the functional demands of transportation infrastructure. Years after the initial installation, the Port of Vancouver continues to add new pieces to the site. Their choice to return again and again speaks to the performance and lasting design of the furnishings. It’s a clear reminder that when public spaces are built with long-term vision, every detail matters.
