Attendees will learn ways to decrease stress, anxiety and fear in patients while offering the best medical care possible. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM | ROOM 217 C Abdominal Ultrasound Lorrie Gaschen, DVM; William Stevenson, DVM; Stephanie Belhorn, DVM; Kahlina Frey, DVM Attendees will be assisted and instructed in performing a systematic ultrasound examination of the canine abdomen focusing on both large organs and small parts (vessels, pancreas, adrenal glands and lymph nodes). Each glucometer will be covered in detail reviewing common challenges noted by both the veterinary professional and client to help increase compliance with home monitoring in the diabetic patient. The lab will be two hours long with the instructors offering two sessions. The result of this adaptation or flex is better team dynamics, better overall work product, more satisfied employees and more satisfied customers. I will cover the use of color, use of font and use of animations. I will cover creating interesting presentations, combating speaker fear, using the power of three to retain audience attention, gauging your audience, customizing a presentation, writing speaker notes and creating speaker notes. I will cover writing a speaker resume, and speaker abstract, and gaining speaking assignments. Audience members will have a portion of the session to test their voice and their abilities. MASTER CLASSES THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM | ROOM 205 Feline Abdominal Imaging Lorrie Gaschen, DVM

This master class is designed so that participants hone their skills in imaging interpretation of diseases of the feline abdomen. Radiography and ultrasound are the main modalities, but CT examples are also included. Hepatobiliary, pancreatic and gastrointestinal diseases will be featured heavily with numerous case examples. Participants will build and improve upon their interpretive skills, common causes of imaging features and also how to develop the best next steps for their feline patients. The session will be heavily case-based and include current standards and literature updates. The role of radiography, ultrasound and CT in the imaging of hepatobiliary disease will be discussed. Ultrasonography of the feline pancreas with both basics of finding the pancreas and interpreting abnormalities will be shown. A review of ultrasound abnormalities and their causes in the small intestine will be shown. There will also be a literature update on low-grade feline lymphoma of the gastrointestinal tract and how we use ultrasound to assess the bowel wall and make a differential diagnosis. Radiography of the gastrointestinal tract will be reviewed with a focus on diagnosing obstructive vs. non-obstructive disease.
