faith In reason, either unaided by revelation, or aided by revelation— faith In a part of His personality and mental and spiritual endowment, or faith in all His personality, including all His mental and spiritual endowment— faith which excludes the vast world beyond the five senses, or faith in the existence of forces— outside, as well as Inclu sive of, the physical senses— which we all know exist, even though we can neither chart them nor understand them. The Satisfactory Answer of Scripture Science having failed to answer my question, and having declared its utter and complete inability to answer it, I turn to my Bible and there I read, in the opening verse of the opening chapter of the opening book, as God’s first word to the anxious human heart, the answer that science could not give me: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” My Bible gives me my answer, and the answer Is one which carries me back far beyond the remotest facts the scientists have discovered. It is an answer beyond the power or even the claims of science to give. My Bible tells . me that in the beginning Personality planned and Intel ligence exerted Infinite power, and Creation was thé result. God has answered: " Known unto God are all H is works from the foundation of the world.” St. Paul wrote, in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews: "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” In these simple declarations we see why the scientists who search in matter itself for the origin of matter are showing themselves to be foolish. In the beginning, matter must have come from some source outside of itself. The creative explanation dissolves every mystery as to the origin of matter, and every mystery as to the behavior of its con stituent factors. When I am assured that God created the heavens and the earth, I am content to believe that He who created the constituents of the atom and fashioned them first into the atom, then into the molecule and then into the element, is able to give them His individuality and to direct their behavior in every environment, for God has created and He commands— His creatures obey their Creator. He made them that way. God speaks to the electron. So I find no conflict between true science and the Bible as to the origin of matter. I believe the scientists in their explanations as to the composition of matter, but I believe my Bible as to the origin of matter and that Almighty God brought in into the world and keeps it through the ages. “ Best” Books

Mostly New— The Modern Triangle By S. J. Bole, Professor o f Biology Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois By the “ modern triangle” is meant a false science, a false philosophy, and a false religion; or Evolution, Pagan Philosophy, and destructive Biblical criticism. Evolution is a philosophy. Science is classified knowl edge. Because evolution is a doctrine, a theory at most, it is not knowledge. Therefore, it is not science but phil osophy. It is a certain kind of philosophy, theoretical and pagan. Evolution, Philosophy, and Criticism cannot be consistently separated. Theoretically, if a person be lieves one of them, he must believe the other two. This book was not written to change the philosophies of men and women who believe in evolution. The Triune God alone can do this. We are writing especially for the thousands of young men and women in high school and college. They are there preparing for their life work. They are also forming a philosophy o f life. Shall this philosophy of life include God, the Bible, and a life with Him beyond the grave? Or shall the Creator and the Bible be denied and the grave end all) There is Chris tian philosophy. Destructive Biblical Criticism does not satisfy the reason or the soul. The evidence is greater against than for Organic evolution. This book was written with the hope that many college students may read it and conclude with Emerson that, ‘ T h e things that are new are not true, and the things that are true are not new. The author says: “ I ask only that the reader may have an open mind, open to the truth. 1 am not afraid o f the truth, of reason, or of knowledge.” Cloth $1.50 Definite Signs of this Age Closing By MA Business Men** Every-Member Evangelism
