About This Guide This guide summarizes information provided to the CMS NTP E-Course Development Team during a virtual training session provided by Insignia Federal Group (IFG) and its subcontractor, Synergy Enterprises, Inc. (Synergy) in 2025. The purpose for the training was to introduce the team to Vyond

Vyond Vyond is a widely used all-in-one video creation platform that enables users to create animated videos for training and other purposes. The platform includes an instant AI-based video generator called Vyond Go and a full-featured video editor called Vyond Studio. Vyond is designed for ease of use, allowing users of all skill levels to create professional-grade videos quickly.

as a platform for creating videos and animations to include in e-courses. The trainer provided an overview of key features and a demonstration of their use. Note: This training session was recorded and archived on Box. The trainer’s PowerPoint presentation is archived on Confluence. For access to CMS NTP files on either platform, contact Melissa Moreno. The training wasn’t intended as a comprehensive course in using Vyond. The trainer provided links to Vyond resources the team can use to further develop their knowledge and skills. Links to these resources are included in at the end of this guide. What’s in This Guide This guide highlights key information shared in a training session conducted in March 2025. It includes:

• An introduction to Vyond • Exploration of its features • Guidance on navigating Vyond Studio • A demonstration of how to create a simple animation

Using Vyond to Develop Animations and Videos for CMS NTP E-Learning Courses

This training session provided an overview of Vyond—how to access it, navigate it, and use it to develop animations and videos for e-learning courses. The trainer concluded the session with an in-depth demonstration of the process for creating a 10-second video. Introduction to Vyond Studio Vyond Studio is a full-featured, drag-and-drop video editor that makes it easy to build a video. Its features include: • Automatic lip-sync • Multiple video styles ranging from animated to photorealistic • 70+ supported languages • Automatic captioning • Instant, infinite asset library • Diverse character customization With Vyond Studio, you can remove backgrounds from uploaded photos, enhance voice-overs, and apply customized actions to characters. Vyond is a 2D platform that features AI qualities and functions. The 2D nature of the platform is important to keep in mind because: If you conceptualize a video with big 3D ideas in mind, you may have to rethink the concept or brainstorm different ways to evoke illusions to those specific scenes. Navigating Vyond Studio The most essential part of your video creation is the canvas, which is the blank white screen shown below. The left panel is what you use to populate scenes. The controls at the top serve as shortcuts, and the broader video settings (top right formatting section) is a way of bringing life to your libraries. The timeline at the bottom brings it all together, combining the visual and audio aspects of a video.

Creating the Title: This is the first and most important step. Since Vyond has an automatic save feature, it’ helpful to have your title already created so that you can enter the title when you begin. Next to the title is the control center in the middle: This is the space where most of your keyboard shortcuts are available (e.g., the undo, redo and copy, and paste options) On the top right side: This is where your general video settings exist. There are options to adjust the size of your canvas, preview your scenes, share your video, translate, add captions, ask further questions if needed, and most important: SAVE. Panel of Libraries Features include: • Discover: The main tab that offers you everything within Vyond quickly. • Library: You can find your videos here and easily grab a scene you’ve created before to include into your new video so that you don’t have to start over again and completely redo a scene from scratch. • Scenes: Search and grab scenes that Vyond has already readily created for you to incorporate into your video and edit as needed. • Props: Vyond has over 10,000 props for you to use, including shapes, symbols, hand gestures, effects, and animals. These props serve an important purpose in helping to populate your scenes visually. • Characters: These animated characters may be customized to have motion and facial expression, and to mimic AI narration. They’re categorized under Vyond’s three separate visual style types: Business Friendly, Whiteboard Animation and Contemporary.

• Business-friendly graphics are detailed and realistic. Whiteboard animation offers graphics that are drawn. Contemporary visual styles are smoother and softer, with graphics that are more animated than what’s in the other styles. • Charts: A variety of charts are available such as bar, pie, line, and percentages. This is a great space to use if you’re interested in visually animating something that could incorporate statistics or numbers. • Text: You can create a simple text box or use text templates provided to you based on style. • Audio: Here’s where you can find your personal audio files, background music, and sound effects. • Uploads: Here’s where you can find everything you have uploaded into the studio. Unfortunately, doesn’t offer an easy way of organizing your files, so it’s important to remember where your personal files are stored in your computer so that you can find your files and easily upload them if needed. Newest Vyond features: • Shutterstock: Along with the Shutterstock subscription you have, Vyond has collaborated with Shutterstock to provide a limited amount of images you can search and grab from Shutterstock. • Image Generation: You can also use a new AI-powered image generator that allows you to type in a description of what you’re looking for and Vyond will try its best to convey it. Formatting In Vyond Studio, the formatting section (sub-top-right area of screen) is what brings the library on the left side panel to life. This is where you can adjust the size, shape, color, and effects of your library items. Features include: • Replace • Background and background color • Scene transition • Camera • Scene settings Timeline You can expand the display of the timeline to reveal your scenes in their entirety, and the following features will be available to you: • Length • Adjusting • Enter and exit effects

• Audio and sounds • Uploading/dragging • Transitions

Building a Scene The trainer shared a butterfly scene that incorporates some of the key elements of Vyond mentioned earlier in the training. She then demonstrated how to adjust the following key aspects of a scene: • Title • Background • Props (including size and color) • Text

• Motion • Length • Transition
