Gamma Omega-Midwestern State It’s Never Too Late to Pursue Your Dreams Patricia Ackley (Gamma Omega-Midwestern State) always dreamed of becoming a doctor. And now, at the age of 52, she is turning that dream into a reality. Patricia’s career did not start the way most doctors’ careers typically do. She started out as a teacher and was in that role for three years and then went on to be a physician’s assistant for 20 years. After that, she gained the opportunity to make a career shift and go back to school to pursue a medical degree. “It took many professions and seasons to reach this point that I have dreamed of since childhood,” Patricia explained. “We as strong women must take care of our family and children. When life allows, we can choose to chase our dreams.” Patricia joined Alpha Phi in 2015 after her daughter, Samantha Pieper, joined the Gamma Omega chapter. She will graduate from medical school just before her 53rd birthday and then enter the National Resident Matching Program’s 2024 residency cycle.

Congratulations, Patricia!

Delta Upsilon-Baldwin Wallace Delta Upsilon Celebrates 80s Classes Reunion

Eleven alumnae sisters from Delta Upsilon-Baldwin Wallace recently gathered earlier this summer for a long weekend spent in a mountain cabin in beautiful Elijay, Georgia. All who attended were initiated between 1983 and 1985, and everyone had a wonderful time reconnecting. “A few of us hadn’t seen each other since graduation,” Lucy Kazarovich, one of the Alpha Phi sisters in attendance, pointed out. “Others have joined this annual weekend getaway since 2018 whether it be to various Florida beaches, Nashville, Catskills or the mountains. Alpha Phi is for a lifetime, and the friendships of our youth continue to be special lifelong bonds.” In addition to Lucy, the women in attendance for this 80s classes Delta Upsilon reunion included: Deanna Brobst Wilson, Erin McDonald Ebihara, Cheri Stephan Adkins, Soni Brown Box, Elaine Behm Dunson, Holly Eleck Michalke, Janelle Keberle, Susan Phipps Bennett, Becky Minko Gawsyszawski and Leanne Trost.

We hope all of you are keeping in touch with your sisters, and as you do we’d love to hear about it! Please email any high-resolution photos or videos of your get-togethers to marketing@alphaphi.org to be considered being featured here in the Quarterly or Alpha Phi’s social media platforms. We’d love to hear from you.
